Why Does Montana Not Have a Helmet Law On the Books? [Opinion]

Over the past couple of weeks there has been an increase in motorcycle crashes in which the person has died and they were not wearing a helmet.

Why is it mandatory to wear a seat belt in your car for safety but not a helmet on a motorcycle? We wear hunterss orange when we hunt, you must have life jackets in your boat at all times, kids in car seats.

All are laws that are now strictly enforced, but no helmet law. I don't get it.
