Two years ago I was in Alaska right now, having an awesome adventure in Americas Last Frontier. The picture above is one of my favorite pics I took on this trip. I saw amazing scenery and met some cool people, too. Who knew there are people my age, just like me, traveling solo who packed their backpacks and were traveling to Alaska just to see it?

Met a Mexican named Poncho on the ferry. OK, his real name is Miguel. But it was raining a lot and he was Mexican. Ha Ha . Met a guy from Germany also on the ferry. We traveled to Anchorage together thanks to a nice couple who gave us a ride. He walked a mile with me to a radio station to apply for a job and then we went downtown and checked it out. He stayed in Anchorage when I caught the bus to Denali.

On the bus I ran into Hillary who I met on the ferry as well. We talked on the bus and she introduced me to Bruno from France. Me and Bruno camped out that night and hung out half the next day. His phone didn't work so when he went to the park ahead of me we lost each other. He e-mailed me after that so we will keep in touch.

At Denali Park I checked my suitcase and went hiking for hours. When I got back to get my suitcase which had my tent in it, they were closed. So there I was without my tent for the night and not enough money to get a hotel. I hitched a ride with a shuttle and met a girl on there that I would later run into at the bar. I decided a bar was a way to go cause it would keep me out of the cold till 3 a.m. and if I was half drunk I might not care as much that I had no place to sleep.

Well, I talked to the girl at the bar and she invited me to sleep at her place. No, there was no hanky panky, I was in a relationship. I thought, OK, cool, she's got an extra bed I can sleep on. I didn't know till I got there that she didn't have a heater. I left my hoodie on and caught a few hours of sleep, but as soon as the sun came out I was out of there and in a coffee shop warming up and getting ready for the day's adventure.

From Denali Park, I took a train to Fairbanks. I didn't do much in Fairbanks, I just wanted to ride the train up there and check it out. I walked around and went to the Geophysical Institute. I didn't meet anyone there, but a nice girl did pick me up on the side of the road and brought me to the airport since I was headed that way with a gigantic suitcase. I didn't even have my thumb out.  I always wanted to see Alaska and it was so worth it.

These are the moments, these are the times. Let's make the best out of our lives.
