Though there wasn't yet footage to see of Ron Moore's Syfy return project 'Helix,' we've been anticipating the deadly disease drama since its early inception. Following the earlier release of first-look photographs, the oozy new thriller has finally slithered out a first official trailer, so gird your stomach and check out Ron Moore's Syfy 'Helix'!

The first trailer shows off more of a conspiracy thriller element to the drama's 'The Thing'-like nature, with one character pointing out the team to have broken not only the laws of man, but of nature as well. Starring ‘The Killing‘ vet Billy Campbell, ‘Helix’ will follow the leading role of Dr. Alan Farragut, an emotionally troubled CDC pathologist who recently endured a failed marriage, wherein his wife had an affair with his brother, the same brother who now needs his help after becoming infected with a deadly disease.

Written by Cameron Porsandeh, Moore’s ‘Helix’ generally follows a team of scientists investigating a possible disease outbreak at an Arctic research facility who find themselves trying to protect the world from annihilation. Under showrunner Steven Maeda (‘LOST,’ ‘CSI: Miami’) the series also stars Hiroyuki Sanada (‘The Wolverine,’ ‘LOST‘) as the mastermind in charge of the top-secret arctic research, along with Kyra Zagorsky as Walker, Faragut’s estranged wife.

Take a look at the creepy first 'Helix' trailer above, and tell us in the comments if you'll check out the January 10 premiere of 'Battlestar Galactica' creator Ron Moore's new series!
