On Friday while I was on air, I received a frantic call from my wife. From what I could hear, our two middle boys, Ashton and Corban had been hurt by a bully and needed emergency room attention immediately. I shut my show down on the spot and ran to their attention not fully knowing what I would find.

Upon my arrival, I found them both bleeding badly from the head with police and medical personnel there.

They had been at our private little playground in our subdivision in the Heights. Another neighbor kid, who hasn't been since we arrived is the accused. Ashton and Corban, who are 7 and 4, were playing close together. This other kid came up to them, grabbed them both by the neck and forcefully slammed their heads together. Neither lost consciousness, but both split their heads open and the fear of a concussion set it.

We got them to St. Vincent Healthcare, where they were cleaned up and assessed. The skin break was pretty deep on both of them, but fortunately neither had a concussion. Both received four stitches and a bad headache.

Bullying is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. It has no purpose for anyone. I can't even begin to tell you how much this angers me. My kids never exclude anyone, will play with anyone and were doing nothing wrong, according to witnesses. This attack was non-provoked and should have never happened.

I am sick of hearing stories like this but even more sick that this happened to my own children.

I am not sure what the resolve is to this story. I know bullying needs to stop. Something needs to be done but I am not sure what.

I guess I just needed to get this off my chest. Thanks for letting me vent.
