Derek Carr threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to James Jones with 1:42 to play, and the Raiders shocked the Kansas City Chiefs, 24-20, in Oakland on Thursday night. The Raiders (1-10) won their first game of the season and snapped a 16-game losing streak that dated back more than a year.

After trailing 14-3 at halftime and allowing an early field goal in the third quarter, Kansas City (7-4) scored on three consecutive possessions in the second half to take a 20-17 lead with 9:03 to play. However, the Chiefs could not hold the advantage, as the Raiders marched down the field on a 17-play, 80-yard drive culminating with Jones’ touchdown catch.

Kansas City QB Alex Smith was 20-for-36 for 234 yards and two touchdowns, but he could not get his team into the end zone after Oakland’s final touchdown.

The Raiders sprinted to a 14-3 halftime lead courtesy of Latavius Murray’s two rushing touchdowns, including a 90-yard run. Murray left the game after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit in the second quarter. He finished with 112 yards on four carries.
