2014 has been a good year for Mikiyo Aoki.  The graphic designer from Bozeman finished second in the Women's World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas. Then she set her sights on a bigger prize, the Main Event. Last night, she was one of the featured players on ESPN's "World Series of Poker" coverage.

It probably won't be the last time you see her on ESPN.  She ended up making it to the fifth day of the event. On day four, she had amassed the 11th largest chip stack at the table before eventually getting into trouble late on Day 5.   All told, Aoki walked away from Vegas with over $150,000 in combined winnings from the two events.

Aoki started out playing small house games in Bozeman before taking her skills to poker's biggest stage.  She represented her home state all the way. Throughout the tournament, Aoki sported a blue Montana Roots baseball camp as an homage to her home state
