Lady Gaga will make her first trip to SXSW this week and she's going big with her debut at the festival.

Ma Monster will not only perform but she will also deliver the keynote speech at the music portion of the annual event.

Gaga will take the stage on Thursday, March 13 at the Stubb's Dorito's #BoldStage, despite having initially been denied a permit due to logistical issues and concerns regarding the safety of fans and locals.

The next day, Friday, March 14, she will give the keynote speech to both Music and Platinum registrants at the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Austin. Last year's keynote address was delivered by Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and Nirvana fame.

Gaga's appearance at SXSW will benefit her Born This Way Foundation and she is seeking some creative participation from her fans, which she speaks about in the video below.

We must admit, we love that Gaga is doing SXSW. It grounds her a bit.

She is also gearing up to play the final shows at NYC's famed Roseland Ballroom, which is closing, during her birthday weekend.
