Lady Gaga gave the keynote speech at the 2014 edition of SXSW, after headbanging at death metal shows, allowing a performance artist to vomit on her and wearing a dress constructed of coffee filters. The highlights of her speech? Puke, Katy Perry and the second volume of 'ARTPOP,' as well as her new video.

Gaga wore clear plastic trash bags as her ensemble for the speech and despite the outrageous, Gaga-esque nature of her attire, her speech and discussion, delivered in a voice hoarse from performing and being out late, sucking the marrow out of the festival, was serious and impactful. She fully immersed herself in the SXSW experience, behaving like a fan discovering new music, which made her further qualified to make this speech.

Of course, she spoke about Millie Brown, the artist Gaga allowed to toss her cookies –actually, some green liquid—all over her. They've known each other for years and worked together before. "It was just exciting to see people talk about performance art on the internet," Mommy Monster explained about their controversial antics. "We really just did it because we believe in the performance and we believe in what it meant to the song."

As much as we love Gaga and art that pushes boundaries, it's hard to buy puke as art. Still, she proved she is savvy and understands and invites more skeptics than believers.

Gaga also labeled herself very "proud" of 'ARTPOP' despite the fact that it has been perceived as a flop by some critics. She said she does not place as much importance on the charts and the numbers.

Ma Monster actually has "a whole second act of 'ARTPOP,'" she admitted. The second volume, mentioned before the first volume came out, is done. When it will see the light of day? Well, that remains to be seen! TBD, monsters, TBD!

While she and her perceived "rival" Perry showed support for each other when they released 'ROAR' and 'Applause' within days of one another, she expressed a little irritation at the constant comparisons.

"I don't know what the f--k I have to do with Katy Perry," Gaga groused. "My music is so completely different and I couldn't be more different." We agree. The ladies don't do the same thing.

She also pointed out that big names like herself can help call attention to the emerging artists who make SXSW what it is. She also doesn't think it's too corporate. Given the state of the music industry, an event like SXSW needs the sponsorship. And you know, she is right. Ma Monster also spoke about sustainable careers meaning you have to suffer and play shows to empty venues, as opposed to making a crazy Instagram clip.

Gaga will drop a new video next Saturday (March 22), while the video for 'Do What U Want' with R. Kelly remains shelved. She would not reveal details about the video, so tune in next week!

Look, it's Gaga making trash bags look fashion-forward!
