The Dumbest, Weirdest Laws in Montana
Montana had some very strange laws passed that may have seemed like a good idea at the time, for whatever reason. Here's a few.
1. Daddy would not approve
According to the #1 weirdest law, prostitution is considered a “crime against the family”.
2. Cover your eyes
It is a misdemeanor to show movies that depict acts of felonious crime.
3.No fishin' in the dark...ladies
In Montana, it is illegal for married women to go fishing alone on Sundays, and illegal for unmarried women to fish alone at all.
4. No hanky panky
It is illegal for a man and a woman to have sex in any other position other than missionary style.
5. Indians, spread out
Seven or more indians are considered a raiding or war party and it is legal to shoot them.
6. One baaaaad law
It is illegal to have a sheep in the cab of your truck without a chaperone.
7. No peeking
It is a felony for a wife to open her husband’s mail.
