Demi Lovato kicked off the Pepsi All-Star Week Music Series on July 11 with a cool performance set at the Budweiser All-Star Concert in Cincinnati. The post-Disney pop artist, who was actually brought in as a last-minute replacement for Ariana Grande, professional doughnut licker, performed a slew of hits for the crowd of 30,000 at the Paul Brown Stadium yesterday evening.

Wearing a white-hot outfit—literally, the ensemble consisted of a torn-up white jean jacket and matching short-shorts, a white crop top featuring a neon eye print, black heeled booties and bright blue reflective shades circa the 80s—Lovato treated the screaming fans with hits like "Skyscraper," "Really Don't Care," and "Let It Go." (Yes, that one. Not even your summers are safe anymore, people!) Also on the set list? Lovato's massively infectious (and totally bi-curious) new summer anthem, "Cool For The Summer."

However, some drama ensued online (where else?) when, during her performance, some fans felt that Demi threw shade at Ariana by asking the crowd, "I know it’s a little late but I didn’t get to sing this on the Fourth of July, but how many of your are proud to be an American?"

The singer then launched into a stripped-down rendition of her 2013 song "Made In The USA," which some took as a jab towards Ari, who recently declared "I hate America!" when presented with a plate of doughnuts. (Of course, we're pretty certain that's not actually the case. Ariana both apologized and explained the story behind what she said here.)

Demi later laughed at the claims of the Ari shade on Twitter. "Didn't get to sing Made in the USA on the 4th because I was singing #COOLFORTHESUMMER. No shade - stop the bull---t." We believe you, Demi!

The Pepsi All-Star Week Music Series is part of the 2015 MLB (Major League Baseball for you non-sports fans, mmkay?) All-Star Week, which will culminate on July 14 with the 86th annual MLB All-Star Game, set to broadcast on FOX. Other artists set to perform this week include Snoop Dogg, Leona Lewis, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and more.
