Demi Lovato and her magenta hair stopped by Seacrest Studios at Levine Children's Hospital in North Carolina while on her Neon Lights Tour to inspire some of the patients. She offered a unique piece of poignant advice on how to reverse a bad day.

Hospital stays aren't easy on patients, parents or caregivers, so Lovato was asked for practical advice -- like what she does when things are kinda going south.

She says she reads what her fans say on Twitter, since that's where she receives lots of love, but non-famous people don't have that luxury.

"That alone isn't going to change your day," the singer admitted. "You have to make the decision yourself to change your day. I think to myself, 'I'm cranky, I'm tired. How can I change my perspective on this?' When I realize that I am thankful that I have so much work to do, that I am tired, you reverse the thinking."

In essence, Demi Lovato believers in the power of positive thinking.

The fashionable singer, who is known for her rocker chick chic, also talked about how to stylize a plain hospital gown and make it more wearable. She explained that she put safety pins on her denim jacket to make it edgy and that little details like that can help.
