‘Come With Me Now” By Kongos-My Hump Day Track Of The Week

Love this weeks pick!  Love it!  I found out that this song has been out for 3 years and I've only just heard it in recent weeks.  Am I out of the loop or what?

After doing a little "research" on Kongos, I became even more interested in them.  Did you know that they are originally from South Africa? That the band consists of four brothers?

Here's what Wikipedia had to say:

In 2011, Kongos released their album Lunatic, which featured "Come with Me Now" which was released as a single. With the band performing the song live while opening for American band Linkin Park in South Africa, "Come with Me Now" was considered a fan favorite there though it initially struggled to find an audience in the United States. The band admitted that when "it didn't seem like things were getting along we really lost heart - we were ready to move on to new material"

 

Awww, poor Kongos!  Well, obviously it just took us silly Americans a bit longer to appreciate the awesomeness that is you!  We love you! Or rather, I love you! Check out the song/video and see what I'm talking about.

I love how it has a mix of sounds, beats and lyrics.  It's completely unique, don't you think?  Am I praising them too much here?  Comment and let me know what you think?  And if there's another band out there that I'm missing...LET ME KNOW THAT TOO!
