Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Trailer: Dracula’s Curse

Konami's newest trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 reveals many of the new characters Gabriel Belmont will be encountering throughout his next adventure. Many of these new faces in the Lords of Shadow story are quite well-known to fans of the Castlevania mythos.

Set many years (perhaps even centuries) after the ending of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Gabriel Belmont now lives as the vampire, Dracula. He became the Count of Castlevania after being manipulated by Zobek, a member of the Brotherhood of the Light (of which Gabriel was affiliated with), and inadvertently sprung Satan out of hell. Gabriel eventually beat Satan back and released a multitude of souls stuck in Satan's part of Limbo, which helped make Gabriel immortal. Lords of Shadow's downloadable content also helped bridge the gaps as to why Gabriel needs blood to survive and how he destroyed his infamous whip, the Combat Cross.

This new trailer features Dracula emerging from a long a sleep to find that Zobek has been waiting for him in the modern age. Zobek tells Dracula Satan is preparing to return. In order to fight Lucifer, Dracula has to venture into his castle and regain all of his powers. However, evil has been spreading from Castlevania (doesn't it always?) in anticipation of its master's return, and Drac's son, Alucard, along with the Belmont family, plan to put a stop to it all.

We have already stated some of the things we would like to see in Lords of Shadow 2, so here's to hoping Konami will deliver once this vampyric adventure comes out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on Feb. 25.
