'Breaking Bad' star Bryan Cranston brought himself one step closer to an EGOT last night with a Tony win for his portrayal of LBJ in Broadway's 'All the Way,' but the once (and future?) Heisenberg may have his eyes on a TV return. A new report suggests Steven Spielberg has begun optioning 'All the Way' for the TV miniseries treatment, with Cranston on board to reprise his Tony-winning role.

News of the potential 'All the Way' adaptation comes by way of Deadline, who also explained that Spielberg's HBO connections and Cranston's relationship with AMC makes it difficult to determine which network might score the rights to the adaptation. In either case, the fast-developing miniseries would see Cranston reprising his role as President Lyndon Johnson for a story that begins with the Kennedy assassination and moves through the first year of Johnson’s administration, including taking office and passing Civil Rights legislation in Congress, through his landslide re-election.

It remains similarly unclear if a potential 'All the Way' miniseries would incorporate material from playwright Robert Schenkkan's second LBJ work, 'The Great Society,' chronicling Johnson's life from 1964-1968.

We'd be thrilled to have Bryan Cranston back on TV, but what say you? Would Spielberg's potential 'All the Way' miniseries net Cranston another guaranteed Emmy? Tell us where you'd like to see the series land in the comments!
