Billings, Montana-Made Film Snags Six Oscar Nominations
A movie that was filmed in Billings, Montana not only dazzled critics, but also scored six Oscar nominations.
"Nebraska" is a black and white road trip film directed by Alexander Payne, the man who also responsible for the movies "Sideways" and "The Descendants".
The film starred Bruce Dern as a passionate parent who believes he's won a million dollar magazine sweepstakes. Actor Will Forte is the son who hesitantly agrees to take him to Nebraska to claim his prize.
The film scored a 91% Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.
"Nebraska" earned nods for Best Picture, Best Director (Alexander Payne), Best Actor in a Leading Role (Bruce Dern), Best Supporting Actress (June Squibb) Best Original Screenplay (Bob Nelson) and Best Cinematography (Phedon Papamichael).
