Billings “Burger Dive” Wins National Burger Competition
This weekend, national food critics discovered what people here in Billings have known for several years. Blackened Sabbath rocks.
The Burger Dive’s Blackened Sabbath burger was named “Best of the Bash” at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival, a prestigious national competition held every year at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival in Miami.
The Burger Dive impressed the all star panel of judges, which included popular Food Network personalities Robert Irvine and Rachel Ray. Chef Brad Halsten’s mix of beef, bacon, goat cheese, sriracha and garlic mayo bested hundreds of other burgers from across the country to win the $10,000 grand prize. The Blackened Sabbath burger will also be featured at Red Robin restaurants nationwide.
Halsten says the national recognition means more to him than the money, “To come across the country and show people that maybe haven’t been to Montana that, you know what, we do have some great quality food where we’re from too.”
