The Billings Breastfeeding Coalition is sponsoring the fourth annual family fun walk and celebration on Saturday at Pioneer Park to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week.

The event’s theme is “Celebrating Breastfeeding Moms at Work.”

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the playground area.

While celebrating the bond of breastfeeding, the event honors mothers and babies along with the families and friends who support and encourage them, said Donna Healy, communications projects specialist, of RiverStone Health.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the walk, which starts at the playground area of Pioneer Park, and follows a stroller-friendly, designated trail through the park. The walk will be followed by demonstrations of baby slings and breast pumps as well as activities for children.

Participants are invited to enter drawings for prizes, including an electric breast pump, according to Healy

Water and snacks will be provided and participants are encouraged to bring a blanket and a picnic lunch.

The Billings Breastfeeding Coalition works to strengthen breastfeeding protection, promotion and support. Supporters of this year’s event include: Billings Clinic, St. Vincent Healthcare and RiverStone Health WIC, the supplemental nutrition program for Women, Infants and Children.
