Parents teaching their young children to like the things they like is nothing new, but the internet makes it a lot easier these days. Personally, I've had my kid watching the same cartoons that I grew up on, thanks to youtube. She's checked out He-Man, The Smurfs, Peewee's Playhouse and more. I've had her playing some of the video games I played thanks to emulation software on my P.C.

A couple of days ago we went to check out Hotel Transylvania 2 and I saw an ad for Jem and the Holograms, a live action movie based on the 80's cartoon Jem. After that, we stopped into Target to look at some clothes and there was a whole section of t-shirts featuring classic 80's stuff. This makes me think I'm not alone. There must be a lot of parents that grew up in the 80's that are reliving their childhood days through their kids.

Have you subjected your kid to 80's or 90's things in hopes they would latch on to them?
