Persona 5, Persona 4 Spin-Offs Announced

Atlus had a busy weekend, as it announced not one, not two, but four new Shin Megami Tensei: Persona titles for 2014.

Among those titles was the eagerly awaited Persona 5, which will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation 3 next winter. There are few details, but the first new trailer (above) teases in mysterious ways only a Persona game can. While there has been no announcement of a Western release just yet, the series’ popularity makes at least Persona 5 a shoe-in for English localization eventually.

Additionally, Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth was announced for the 3DS. Due to arrive in Japan on June 5, the new RPG features characters from Persona 3 and Persona 4 in a dungeon-crawler. However, instead of the traditional character models designed by Shigenori Soejima, but chibi versions of the casts from both entries.

Persona 4: Dancing All Night is, if you can believe it, a rhythm game coming to the Vita next year. Details on Dancing All Night are sparse as well, but as you can see in the trailer, you’ll be able to boogie down with the best of them.

Last, but certainly not least, Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold has been confirmed for the PlayStation 3. Due in 2014, the fighting game was already announced for arcades, but now has a definite home release plan as well. Like every other new Persona title, Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold has only been announced for Japan. We did get Persona 4: Arena here in the States, but only Atlus knows if it sold well enough to earn its sequel a localization.
